Our Statement of
Beliefs & Core Creed

Our faith is rooted in the belief that our sacrament, 5-MeO-DMT (Bufo), is a sacred and powerful tool for self-improvement and self-empowerment. We believe this molecule serves as a purifier for your body, mind, and spirit, dissolving attachments so one can have their own experience with the love of the divine source.

Dragonfly Temple functions with full theological sincerity, operating as an authentic, legally tax-exempt church structure under California law. The following foundational tenets outline the protective, spiritual, and social commitments of our congregation.

The Eight Sacred Tenets

Our sanctuary is anchored upon these protective, theological boundaries, establishing our spiritual rights and obligations.

I

Sacred Nature of the Sacrament

We believe in the Sacred Nature of our Sacrament, 5-MeO-DMT (Bufo), and that these entheogens are sacred tools that facilitate profound spiritual experiences and personal transformation. This sacrament as well as other sacred sacraments, when used responsibly and with reverence, can help individuals connect with the divine, explore their inner selves, and gain insight into the nature of existence.

II

Personal and Collective Transformation

We believe in personal and collective transformation. We hold that the use of our sacrament can lead to both personal and collective transformation. Through these experiences, individuals may achieve greater self-awareness, healing, and a deeper sense of unity with others and the world around them.

III

Respect for All Spiritual Paths

We believe in respect for all paths and we recognize and honor the diverse paths and traditions that people use to explore spirituality. Our focus is on the shared goal of seeking enlightenment, understanding, and connection, and we respect each individual’s journey.

IV

Ethical Use, Responsibility, and Safety

We believe in ethical use, responsibility, and safety. We advocate for the responsible and ethical use of sacred sacraments. This includes careful preparation, appropriate setting, and integration of experiences, as well as adherence to legal and safety guidelines.

V

Fostering Supportive Community

We believe in community and support. We are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive community where members can share their experiences, insights, and challenges. We believe in the power of collective wisdom and mutual support in the spiritual journey.

VI

Environmental and Social Stewardship

We believe in environmental and social stewardship. We affirm our responsibility to protect the environment and to work towards social justice. We understand that our spiritual practices should contribute positively to the world and respect the natural world from which entheogens come.

VII

Continual Learning and Evolution

We believe in continual learning and growth. We value continual learning and personal growth. We encourage exploration and the pursuit of knowledge in both spiritual and practical realms, recognizing that our understanding of the divine and the self is ever-evolving.

VIII

Honoring the Human Experience

We believe in honoring our human experience and nurturing ourselves. May love lead our hearts into positive directions at all times so the world can heal and become a better place for all life that exists.

By shifting into our authentic selves, we create an expanding ripple effect of healing, light, and grace that reaches the hearts of all living beings.
